Steven W. Barrett began his financial services career with The New York Life in 2003 following in his Grandfather’s footsteps. Steve became an agent in Boston Massachusetts General Office after a successful 25-year career in International Management. In his first 9 months at New York Life, Steven qualified for the Executive Council and the prestigious international Million Dollar Round Table¹. After experiencing early success earning three councils and three MDRT’s, in 2005 Steven was promoted to the management team as a Partner in the Boston General Office. Steven quickly earned recognition for his individual achievements in 2007 as a member of the Gathering of Eagles, 2008 as a Top 50 Partner and in 2009 a member of the Gathering of Eagles and a Top 25 Leading Partner. Steve’s dedication, participation and commitment to the organization helped the Boston General Office earn five consecutive Chairman’s Cups. In January of 2011 Steven relocated to Los Angeles to blend his family with his High School sweetheart, Susan Clark. Steven and Susan live in Rolling Hills Estates, with their children Cole, Bobby, Mackenzie, Nicholas and Timothy.

Gloria has been in the Financial Services industry for 23 years. She became an insurance professional in 1989 helping individuals and families achieve their financial goals by providing strategies and solutions to simplify and enhance the quality of her clients’ lives. After 7 years of serving her community as a successful agent, she opened the Wilshire Insurance School in Los Angeles to service the insurance community at large by providing pre-requisite insurance education and licensing opportunities.
In 2002, she was recruited by a major company and was quickly promoted into a management position in less than a year. Currently, as a Partner at the Los Angeles General Office, Gloria is committed to recruiting and developing a diverse team of highly motivated individuals who share her passion to help make an impact in their communities.
Gloria obtained and maintains the following licenses: FINRA Series 6,7,63,66 and Series 24 registrations, CA L&H and CA P&C licenses.

Adam Bar joined the Los Angeles New York Life Team in May 2010, shortly after relocating from New York City, where he owned and managed a number of successful businesses. Adam’s passion as a Financial Services Professional was to help others reach financial security and independence, providing clients with strategies and tools to maximize savings and returns while minimizing taxes and risk. Mr. Bar is also driven to better the lives of others in the community; Adam is a proud member of the LA5 Rotary Club, Provisor’s, Jewish National Fund (JNF), and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JFDR). He also serves on the Board of SOSMentor.
Since joining The New York Life Adam has achieved Executive Council, Premier Executive Council, President’s Council, Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) 2012 & 2013. Among many awards Adam has won recognition for the Investment Annuity Leader 2012 & 2013, Lifetime Income Leader 2013, Long Term Care Leader 2013, and New Associate of the Year two years in a row. Susan joined New York Life in 2002 bringing with her nearly 18 years of training, sales and management experience in the insurance industry. As the Corporate Vice President-Insurance Group, Susan leads the new business and agency administration service teams and works closely with agents to ensure their business is processed efficiently. Susan has been married to Eric Jackson since 1987 and they have one daughter, Natalie Rae, a graduate of SUNY Maritime College in New York City and newly-commissioned Ensign in the United States Navy. In her spare time Susan enjoys reading, movies, wine tasting, watching football and hockey, and occasional travel.

Anne began her career as a successful agent in 1986 in the Pasadena General Office. She accepted the position of Trainer in 1994 and immediately won the “New Trainer of the Year” award. In 2001, the Pasadena office was merged with the Los Angeles Office, and Anne became part of the Los Angeles Management team. In keeping with New York Life’s strong commitment to professional education, Anne has earned her Masters of Science in Financial Services (MSFS), as well as CLU®, ChFC®, CLF®, CASL®, REBC® and LUTCF designations through the American College. In the 18 years Anne has been in management with New York Life, she has earned company-wide respect for her talents and skills in the areas of training and developing agents. As the Senior Director of Development in Los Angeles, Anne is responsible for delivering the New York Life training and development programs to agents at all levels of experience. Anne enjoys her role as a developer and is committed to the success of all agents in the Los Angeles General Office.

As Senior Director of Development, Anthony is in charge of ensuring that New York Life and its agents are well positioned to market themselves and to maintain our commitment to the communities we serve. Our position of strength, integrity and humanity are the cornerstone of everything we do. We are committed to our communities and to our policyholders. Anthony joined New York Life in the Portland Oregon General office in 1997. In his roles as Field Service Representative for the Portland and Salem General offices, his duties were to ensure that all agents had the technical tools to properly service their clients. In the fall of 2000 he was asked to join the San Diego General Office as Development manager. One year later he was promoted to the Idaho General Office as Sales Development Manager, and then again in 2007 to the Inland Empire General Office as Director of Development. In 2008, Anthony was asked to take on a newly created role, Market Development Director to the Greater San Francisco Office for our MEGA office operations, where he was in charge of agency and agent branding / marketing for the Downtown SF, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Fremont Offices. In January of 2013, Anthony was asked to join the Los Angeles office as Senior Director of Development. Anthony's role is to assist the Los Angeles office with creating marketing, branding and development opportunities for its insurance and financial professionals. He is also in charge of creating target market opportunities. Anthony resides in West Hollywood with his partner Robert.

Alyssa joined New York Life as an Agent in 2011 after graduating from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). During her first year she qualified for Council and was consistently awarded for her 10-A-Month production levels. As an Agent she worked closely with the Latino community educating them on financial literacy. In December of 2012 she was promoted to Senior Associate of the Latino Market where she now concentrates on identifying and developing Latino leaders within the Los Angeles General Office. In 2013, Alyssa led the Los Angeles Latino Market team to take two national awards for recruiting and production growth. Alyssa grew up in beautiful Sonoma County, CA with her parents Carlos and Hilda and Brothers Miguel and Carlos.

James began his career as an agent with New York Life in1997 in the Los Angeles Office. In 2001, James became Agency Standards Consultant. In that capacity, James assumed the responsibility for making sure that agents and managers meet the strict regulations and rules of integrity as prescribed by the company and the various agencies that watch over them. He is very effective in making certain we meet compliance standards.
